I found a PPA with 0.21 builds for 9.10.

For the sake of the archives, here are the steps I followed to get
0.21-fixes packages installed on Ubuntu 9.10:

I added these lines:
Package: mythtv-frontend
Pin: version 0.21.*
Pin-Priority: 500

to /etc/apt/preferences.
Then:

% sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mythbuntu/fixes-0.21
% sudo aptitude update
% sudo aptitude upgrade
[...]
dpkg: warning: downgrading mythtv-frontend from
0.22.0+fixes22594-0ubuntu1 to 0.21.0+fixes21383-0ubuntu0+mythbuntu4.
dpkg: warning: downgrading mythtv-common from 0.22.0+fixes22594-0ubuntu1
to 0.21.0+fixes21383-0ubuntu0+mythbuntu4.

The resulting front-end seems to behave identically (including bugs) to
what I had under 9.04.
