FIOS - Mythtv Questions

Many STB don't have a serial port on them, but serial is good if its
present. FireWire also works quite well. Both are (generally) more
reliable than the IR blaster route, since they're hard-wired
connections and bidirectional communications paths, meaning the box
can actually give you some feedback as to success/failure of commands
you've sent it, vs. blast IR and hope it worked (though it *usually*
does. but not always.).
