linux/unix admin question

Registering a domain name is probably the wrong term. I asked the IT
guys to add an entry into the network DNS server and it was over a year
a go and I can't remember what the name I asked them to associate with
my IP address. And I can remember the ip address. The details are
this... I have a kvm to ip switch that I use to manage a remote server.
Most of the time I just ssh into the server and do my bit to sysadmin
it. But I need to do something which require my accessing the console
through the kvm to ip switch. So, I can't remember the ip address or
name of the switch... it was over a year a go that I set it up...
Anyway, I've actually fixed my problem. cycling the power on the kvm to
ip has it e-mail me the ip address and from there I can do a reverse
lookup....

as for the nslookup question, I think trying to get a domain to dump its
list of entries is prohibited for security reasons. I used nslookup on a
window system which has the ls command implemented and I got some kind
of error message saying that it wouldn't let me get the listing.
Anyway... maybe I am intoxicated... :)

Cheers. Steve.
