directory and a tmp dir. on the server as well as
shares on the 98 box.. Samba is set up to win the
browser election and from the smbclient output
this is confirmed. From the 98 box I cannot access
the shares on the Samba server, the user name and
password fail. When I use smbclient to test what
shares are available to the named users only one
of the 5 users is able to access their Home
directories besides root.

Is there a different means that users on the NT
box are authenticated when they access their
shares on the server, from the means of
authentication that the smbclient utitility uses
on the server?
