Searching for a strong candidate to develop software for a networked
controller.  The candidate will be responsible for developing new
features and maintain existing software for a currently shipping
product.  The candidate will be developing software at both the
kernel/driver level and at the application level.  The candidate should
have experience with Java, JVM and underlying Linux drivers (for
maintaining and debugging) and the candidate must have good knowledge of
networking protocols such as Ethernet and TCP/IP.  The candidate should
have experience with Java threads and developing for concurrency.  The
developer should have experience writing detailed software
specifications and design for testability.

Duties:


?         Develop new features for embedded-java application.
Application development is within the Eclipse Java environment running
under Linux.

-        Develop web based UI components in HTML and Javascript

?         Meets programming standards by following production,
productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying work
process improvements; implementing new technology.

?         Verifies program operation by confirming tests.  Should have
experience with JUNIT testing methods for development of the embedded
Java application.

?         Maintain U-boot boot loader (they are using COTS) when
necessary and add new features as required.

?         Maintain Linux kernel and drivers and add new features as
required.  Kernel platform integration is provided by third-party.


Skills/Qualifications:

Java, C, Linux driver development, Embedded Software Design, Software
Debugging, Java Threads, Subversion revision control, bug tracker
software, Eclipse development environment, XML/JavaScript knowledge a
plus.  Java AWT a plus.  HVAC knowledge a plus.

5-7 Years of experience

Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in electrical engineering or
computer science
