OK so you've heard the one about the difference between a dead lawyer in the
road vs. a dead snake in the road. (There are skid marks before the latter.)

In this forum, people from all walks of life have always been present. In its
early days, I remember one of my favorite people at the meetings: in the
evening he shared with us his interest in Internet and Linux. During the day,
he dispatched taxis for Boston Yellow Cab.

When we're having a discussion about patent law here, I think it's a /good/
thing we have people from such a diverse range of occupations. A couple of
*live* lawyers are just what we need.

Hsuan-Yeh, please don't give up on this forum. All of us need to lighten up
and perhaps tell a few dead-programmer jokes while we're at it.

One thing that does not appear to be a joke: the public is safe only so long
as Congress is not in session. ;-(
