[Discuss] build my own cell phone

For all practical purposes there really aren't any components to swap.  All of a typical cell phone's working guts are a single ASIC and some support circuitry for the battery, display and keypad.  Smartphones are a SOC for the "smart" and a baseband ASIC for the "phone".
