this will never happen. these groups have very different goals. think
about what happened [and continues to happen] to the network as it
gets 'monetized' ... [hint: corporations control or eliminate makers]

makers want to build and fix things for many reasons [helping
themselves or others, fame, boredom, ...]; corporations want to
maximize shareholder value. they are orthogonal, and sadly,
corporations have far more resources available to them than makers.

but makers have imagination ...
