On each machine, mail for anything system related goes to an
alias: operations-$hostname-root which is then consolidated
into an archived mailing list distributed to the people who need
to see such things.

Mail from applications goes to something like:
ops-beta-info
ops-qa-warn
ops-production-problem

where beta|qa|production are stages of the release process and
info|warn|problem govern whether anyone pays attention to it and
how it gets delivered -- ops-production-problem will wake people
up in the middle of the night.
