[Discuss] Ubuntu 16.04 Wifi Connection Disappeared

Another thing you can try to rule out hardware issues is to boot a "Live
CD" of Ubuntu and see if you can get connected to WiFi with that.

(The install media (CD or USB drive) you used to install Ubuntu can be
used as a Live CD by choosing the "try Ubuntu" option instead of the
install option at the first menu.)
