Do you have integrated graphics in your computer or a separate graphics chip?
With integrated graphics, the system grabs some memory from main memory for
exclusive use by the graphics system.  I'm not sure how that would
affect meminfo output
and it would probably depend on whether your BIOS grabbed the memory or the
Linux kernel/X server did.
