[Discuss] mysql/mariadb



As Joe Polcari pointed to, the trick is to start the server with the option
to skip the grant tables.

mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &

Then you just login without any password. (mysql -u root)
Set the root password. (exit)
Stop the server.
Start it normally.
