How about something like this to start with:
The Linux and Unix user group will continue with new and innovative meetings and training programs centered around the Linux operating system and other Unix systems. In the Past, we have hosted, Linus Torvalds, inventor of Linux, Jon "Maddog" Hall, Executive Director of Linux International, Jim Paradis from Digital Equipment Corporation, who initially ported Linux to the Digital Alpha, Mike Bushnell, from the Free Software Foundation. 
 
We should also talk about what kind of meetings are currently planned for the future. 


We could mention that we will continue to maintain the mailing lists as well as the listserv. Lets keep this looking forward. We don't need to dwell too much on meeting locations or details, but let's tell people, what we would like to do in the future. 

Anyhow, this is a start, lets get some feedback over the next few days.
