There's nenscript, which provides fairly traditional printer page control,
but I much prefer the newer 'magic filter' packages, such as APSfilter, 
ImageMagick, or even gslp.ps (a filter written in PostScript, supplied
with the GhostScript package--but get Aladdin Ghostscript if you only have
GNU Ghostscript).
