I think someone already said this, but in case I'm confused or you missed
it, you need to use a program like fetchmail (there are a few others too)
to retrieve your mail from the server, and then you can use pine to read
it on the local machine.

Assuming your company's firewall doesn't block port 82...

Also fetchmail comes on recent RedHat systems, so you may already have it
installed... check the manpages.
