I have a Vaio C1X which works great, and I've seen lots of people with the
larger Vaios, including Linus. I believe Linus has one of the 505's.

There's a web page that gives lots of information about putting Linux onto
various laptops, at

    http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/kharker/linux-laptop/

This includes links to pages for specific laptops, including many about
the various Vaio models.
