2.2 kernels and IDE disk access

I have lines in my rc.sysinit that enable DMA using hdparm commands.
They also tweak the read-ahead block size and enable 32-bit transfers.

As for P-II support, the version of Red Hat shipped on VA boxes is
recompiled for P-II.  I think Mandrake Linux does the same.
