SCSI Problem

I tried to test put and IDE drive, and in order to do so i disconnected 
my SCSI hard drive and the cable. I still had the SCSI CD-ROM plugged 
into the card. When i booted up without the SCSI hard drive, and with 
the CD-ROM, my SCSI BIOS doesn't install, and i can't use my CD-ROM. My 
CD-ROM is termanated, and i have tried setting it to diffenert IDs, but 
i still get the same problem. I have an Adaptec 2940 Ultra Wide, with 
both the 68 pin SCSI and the 50 pin SCSI. The CD-ROM uses the 50 pin 
cable. I don't have any other SCSI devices. How can i get the SCSI BIOS 
to install with only the CD-ROM in use?
