You need the 3.3.3 edition of XF86. You'll have to pull it down off an ftp
site, e.g., ftp.xfree86.org or ftp.varesearch.com/pub/mirrors/xfree86

Here's an excerpt from README.NVIDIA:

Information for NVidia NV1 / SGS-Thomson STG2000, Riva 128 and Riva TNT Users

1. Supported hardware

This driver supports good acceleration for both the NV1/STG2000 as well as the
Riva128. It is known to work on PCI and AGP versions of the Riva128. The Riva
TNT was added to this driver and is not yet as well accelerated as it could be.
Still, the server is very usable.

There are binary distributions available (recommended). Be sure to pull down
everything - you'll have to update the libraries as well, not just the X
server (or you're taking your life in your hands).

The update procedure is pretty straight forward - there are scripts included
to do it.

Congratulations on being part of the bleeding edge....
