RCN headache, on day 1

It looks like the DNS administration for Waltham is done
differently than Somerville. Indeed, looking at the SOA
for Waltham:

184.6.209.in-addr.arpa
        origin = master.dns.erols.net
        mail addr = hostmaster.erols.net
        serial = 1999072701
        refresh = 10800 (3 hours)
        retry   = 3600 (1 hour)
        expire  = 604800 (7 days)
        minimum ttl = 86400 (1 day)

This seems to imply that they last updated it on July 27. Whereas,
in Somerville:

194.6.209.in-addr.arpa
        origin = smr-cmgr.sbo-smr.ma.cable.rcn.com
        mail addr = admin.smr-cmgr.sbo-smr.ma.cable.rcn.com
        serial = 99091501
        refresh = 3600 (1 hour)
        retry   = 600 (10 mins)
        expire  = 604800 (7 days)
        minimum ttl = 86400 (1 day)

So, I think the answer is that RCN Sucks.
