What's a good color printer?

The HP printers that support PCL (e.g., HP842c, etc.) can be made to print in
color with the RedHat print filter package, supplied with RedHat and Mandrake
distributions.  Select cdj550 as the printer type.  It uses Ghostscript to
translate documents into PCL.  You have to check the printer's specification
to see if PCL is the "Printer Command Language"...

It looks like HP has discontinued the WinPrinter line...

But there is a downside.  Ghostscript doesn't make use of the the PhotoRET 
feature of the printers, so color pictures don't look as good as when they're
printed with the MS Windows drivers   :-(

The PhotoRET feature allows more bits per color than standard PCL describes.
HP has refused to divulge how this all works, but it's on my list to work on.
