Samba and firewall in the same box?

I am running SAMBA and IPChains on my P166.

When I did a security scan on my system from the internet I found that my SAMBA shares were available to the world.  I fixed this by editing my smb.conf file and making sure I set my "hosts allow" to only my local networks, and also setting "interfaces" to only my 192.168.x.x IF.  Now when I scan my machine with ISS or nmap it doesn't show any SMB ports open.
