BTW: Linux can read and write DOS FAT and FAT32 file systems. I routinely backup my wife's Windows98 system using Samba on our internal LAN. Samba is a product which gives Linux (and other Unix systems) the capability to read and write Windows shares over networks as if the Linux system were just another Windows system. I also use Linux as a print server for my wife's Windows system.
