Personally, I'e never seen the big attraction of PDF. I view PDF as Adobe's
overreaction to the commoditization of Postscript, which is more of an
open standard. 

On the other hand, the Acrobat reader is somewhat more feature-rich than
ghostview or gv. I guess it's a toss-up between pdf and postscript.
