Trying to get Red Hat Linux to run on Compaq P100's

Compaq has used several different ones over the years as do most vendors. 
Older drives were not ATAPI compliant. You may need to open the box up and 
find out. While virtually all current Compaq systems are Linux friendly, 
but in the past Compaq had some notably proprietary cards.
