pilot sync problems.

First of all, it's /dev/ttyS0, not /dev/ttys0.  Case is important! 
:)  Secondly, you may also have a permission problem.  You need read and
write access to the device.  If you do an ls on the device file, it should
look something like this:

  crw-------   1 ddm      tty        4,  64 Jul 26 10:14 /dev/ttyS0

It could also be owned by root, but then it needs to be crw-rw-rw- which
is probably not a good idea, if you have multiple users on your system,
as it could be a security concern.

There are other possible reasons why it could not be working, but that's
the most common one.
