triple boot(dos/redhat7.1/win-nt2000) and netware connectivity

i just recently had the learning experience of installing triple boot systems where i work...dos/redhat7.1/win_nt2000.
I put the redhat 7.1 before the NT because the install complained about loading redhat above the 1024 cylinder(somewhere under /arround 8gigs), and then put in the NT. Then NT would not boot, however if you go to the C: partition and change the boot.ini file to the correct partition number, the ntoskrnl.exe will be found.
With the novell connectivity, the following line must be added to /etc/rc.d/rc.local>
ipx_configure --auto_primary=on --auto_interface=on
<and then cd to /usr/src/linux-2.4 and make xconfig.
Turn on ipx support (in network support) and turn on NCP support (in filesystem/network filesystem). Reboot and all is well...
Question 1:Why must redhat7.1 be loaded under the 1024 cylinder? Does it have to be?
Question 2:we changed to dhcp and all though everything works...the computers all claim localhost.localdomain, can i change this to somename.localdomain without disturbing X?
As i side note...to see the NT partition above redhat,
mkdir /mnt/nt, then edit /etc/fstab (adding>
/dev/hd# /mnt/nt ntfs defaults 1 1
<)of course you have to compile ntfs support into the kernel, and then at the command line>mount -a
Thanks....Bill
