I evaluated the scripts vs. my current skill w/ shell scripting (introductory)
and am a bit intimidated.  After a month of testing each segment of the script I
may be able to comprehend what is being done.

I am really looking for a binary of: a) open source software with documentation
or b) commercial software with documentation or c) getting what I had, 'Taper'
working again.

I know the latter is dependent on me.
