Do you mean is IBM serious about Linux?  Given that they've ported it to literally all there boxes (including the mainframe & AS/400), have folks working full-time on Linux projects, sell boxes with Linux installed (including mainframes with nothing but linux), have publicly committed $1 billion this year to linux?  I'd say they're very serious.  All of which is good for Linux.
