If that's the driver the manufacturer recommends, then it must be
based on a DEC tulip (or clone) chip.  If you're running a 2.2 kernel, try
compiling in support for the tulip cards, and if that doesn't work you can
try the "Old Tulip" driver.  It's already in the kernel source (though it
may not be the absolute newest version of the driver).  You shouldn't need
to download anything.
