You're right on on both. BTW: Here are some suggestions:
Add the following to your /etc/fstab making the appropriate chages. 
/dev/hda1       /windoz/c            vfat            rw,noauto,user,exec 0  
0

This allows a regular (non-root) user to mount.
All the user needs to do is type mount /windows/c (in this case).
