RAID under Kernel 2.4

I came across this interesting discussion of software RAID in the 2.4
kernel. Someone put in a good word for the 3Ware products but for those
wishing to try a modest software version this might do the trick (but be
sure you regularly back up that data!!!). And they are doing this under
ReiserFS which I had heard did not like s/w RAID.
