a *real* text install

   Sadly, I do not get to the point of being able to skip
   X. Apparently, even if I tell the installer to run in text only it
   still insists on my video card which is where the installer
   dies. Is there an option I can pass to the installer to avoid this?

Will it accept generic VGA as a choice?
