   AFAIK you should still install the System.map file.  I still use the
'make install' target even though I'm using GRUB now.  It will copy the
bzImage and System.map to the appropriate places, and create symlinks so I
can have a generic "Latest Build" boot option.  It's generally safe to
ignore the error caused by make not finding lilo after copying the files.
