We never did set up any formal definition of what constitutes 
a member; thus far there's never really been a need for that 
distinction.

As for providing DNS services, one of the basic requirements
we'd want is a reliable and reasonably secure way for people 
to maintain their own settings, like mailman and majordomo do. 
I haven't gotten around to searching for software that would
handle this.
