That's not entirely true. Last year while working on editing papers for the 
Usenix meetings in Boston, Clem received a Star Office format document 
(from a Sun employee), and had to request the document in MS Word format. 
Noone can accuse Clem as being a Microsoft person. 
For my classes, I tell my students that they should submit homework in 
plain text, Star Office (5.2 or 6.0) or MS Office formats.
