network interface issue

i just installed mandrake 9.0.  my network card doesn't seem to be working for some reason.  its a 3com 905B.  it sees that its there but it doesn't bring it up.  the only thing that i can think of is conflicting irq's.  my sound card, network card, and firewire have the same irq (this was checked under win 2000).  can someone point me in the right direction?  thank you.
