Cost.  We were looking at the packeteer, but they're kind of rich.  I'm
fairly comfortable w/ iptables, so it wouldn't really be difficult.  I
just don't know exactly what to expect in terms of performance at that
scale.

I've been scrounging the web, but haven't really run into very much real
information.  I did find this link to some homebrew testing:

I think I'll be running some tests myself to get a better handle on
this.  I'll post back my results when I'm done.

Today is a spontaneous college holiday though, so I'm going to go sit
outside and watch the clouds go by while I drink my coffee, and then go
play with my kids.
