I would definitely recommend that you use Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org).  
Not only is it much faster than NetBeans, with the use of the SWT framework, 
but it has many nice features as well.  You can easily intergrate ANT, 
Jalopy, JBoss, etc. with it.  You can also connect to MySQL with it too.
