+1 for the Orinoco cards.  And I've had good luck with a lot of the
cheap-o Prism-II-based cards such as those listed at:

  http://linux-wlan.com/linux-wlan/

though I can't recommend the wlan-ng driver (just use the Orinoco driver
for the Prism-II's).
