[OT]Dumb hardware question

I second this suggestion.  I had a laptop that froze randomly
when it was using its second memory slot (there was something
wrong with the motherboard).  using memtest helped determine that
there was a problem, and which SIMM it was; when I swapped my SIMMS
the problem didn't change.
