MySQL recovery...

Ok, this is something that I've never encountered (or heard of), so I'm
looking for unique solutions. This is it:
We had a MySQL database [3.23.44] running with approximately 13 gigs of
data. For no apparent reason, all of the datafiles lost their MYI files.
We have tried several times to recreate the MYI files using the RESTORE
and several of the isamchk commands, but this has not been successful
(12 of 612 were successful). As mysql is not able to use the datafiles
as is, we are looking for any other way in which we can recover this data.

One thought was if we could find a datafile conversion program that
would convert the MYD files directly to some other database format or
XML or anything, we could then reverse the process to get them back. I
haven't been able to find anything of this sort, however.
ANY suggestions would be helpful,
Grant M.
