Note, however, that in the 2.6.8-1 kernel there are some problems with
recording audio CDs:
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3263

I checked myself on my home machine, and this seems to have manifested there
as just not finding the writer device (IDE/ATAPI).  Functions just fine with
no modifications using 2.6.5, 2.6.6, 2.6.7.
