In Newton, we were one of the first communities to get cable modem
service from Contiental Cablevision. While in the past I've had some
outages, the past couple of years the service has been rock solid. I
consistently get 3+Mbps.

I did look into Speakeasy several times, but I'm too far from the
telephone CO. The Newton CO is in Newtonville at the Northern end of the
city. Actually, David Kramer (who lives in Waltham) is closer to the
Newton CO than I am. I am at the Southern end of the city where Newton
meets Brookline and West Roxbury.
