USB-Serial adapter success stories?

Yes. :)
I have a Belkin (F5U109?) usb->serial adapter so I could use my GPS with
my laptop (Dell Latitude CSX, no serial ports). All I needed to do was
compile up a module (USB MCT Single Port Serial Driver) and the thing
merrily maps to /dev/ttyUSB0. My only problem is when the laptop goes into
suspend, I have to unplug the adapter, remove the module manually, then
reattach, else the data comes out at garbage. Works fine, and works out of
the box when I install Slackware 9.1.
