USB-Serial adapter success stories?

I've played with a couple. The tough part is to find a usb serial
device that's compatible. BELKIN IS NOT!!!

I found that brand "X" (I can't remember the brand & it's not on the cable)
works great and is reasonably cheap. I still see them at CompUSA in
the PDA area. They are semi-translucent (MAC like), about 12" long.

I have not tried to use them on a usb hub. But I have successfully bound
one to a tty device and used minicom to get to another host with a
serial port set up with a getty.
