GRUB hangs

First, we don't know your configuration. To answer this question, we'd need 
to know what your GRUB configuration looks like in /boot/grub/grub.conf (or 
menu.lst) file. 
Then upon booting, which one did you select.
Then, is this a recent install?
Explain exactly what you were doing.
