IMNSHO, avoid LVM like the plague..  I've personally had nothing but
problems with LVM.  But perhaps it's all about how I use my partitions
and disks -- I don't usually add disks to a system and want to extend
my "partitions".  The one time I did use LVM I would up trying to
extend the system by getting a bigger disk -- unfortunately LVM really
doesn't like dealing with the fact that the disk got bigger..  It was
a royal PitA to get LVM to recognize the bigger disk.  qtparted +
resize2fs always worked MUCH better for me.
