Over the past year or so I've been looking at both T-Mobile vs. Verizon vs
Cingular (current).
I was a bit upset because I was receiving no service in my neighborhood and
in part of South Brookline where I used to get good service. I generally
like to call SmarTraveler on my way to work (at the IRS in Andover at the
time). But after looking at T-Mobile and Verizon I found that neither of
them would work at my home where Cingular generally worked upstairs or on
the front porch. The problem I noted above corrected itself and I generally
check SmarTraveler after leaving my garage. Additionally, Cingular is
installing more antenae in the Boston area. My cell phone used to work in
the office at Hp/Littleton and I get 3 bars at my desk in Marlborough.
At least for me and my calling habits, Cingular seems the best alternative.
I did not check out Sprint/Nextel.
