Comcast SMTP / Thunderbird woes

Connecting from my house from a Windows client (Thunderbird) thru a 
Linux router.  The SMTP settings on Thunderbird are set to 
smtp.comcast.net.  Maybe I need to use mail.comcast.net?  This was 
working fine up until a few weeks ago or so.
